Foundations of Health Care Operations Management (fHCOM) is a third-party online course designed for healthcare operational managers and improvement leaders that emphasises practical, day-to-day operational skills. Built on real-world experience, the training utilises the SFQP Framework - Safety, Flow, Quality, and Productivity - to help professionals deliver services on time and within budget. The curriculum addresses common challenges such as queues, delays, missed targets, and budget overruns by teaching specific techniques like process mapping and flow measurement. Participants will learn to diagnose and improve processes through the analysis of capacity, cost, utilisation, and efficiency, supported by visual management tools. Taking between four and eight hours to complete, this self-paced programme includes videos and practice exercises, leading to an optional assessment and a Certificate of Achievement with CPD points.
