Coaching skills workshop overview

We can provide an introduction to taking a coaching approach, through an Association for Coaching accredited course. It is aimed at clinicians, managers and anyone who needs to work with other people to get things done.

Overview

The course will enable you to:

  • Understand what a coaching approach is, when contrasted to other ways of working with other people such as directing, delegating and mentoring.
  • Reflect on your current practice and put a coaching approach into context, using the “situational approach” This will enable effective planning, reflection and explanation going forward.
  • Identify core coaching skills and techniques, including effective listening skills, along with many tips and potential traps through peer-review and case-study examination.
  • Understand and practice using a clear structure, used for engaging in coaching conversations.
  • Test out the use of a coaching approach with peers and use feedback to plan how you’ll put theory into practice.
