About this webinar

The NHS Long Term Workforce Plan highlights the importance of utilising digital and technological innovations to ensure the workforce is prepared to deliver care now and in the future.

However, research has demonstrated the impact of these innovations are highly dependent on the effectiveness of the implementation.

This session aims to support staff leading digital transformation programmes in the NHS, covering the end-to-end process of strategy, discovery and design through to implementation and evaluation. A case study of a national 60-Trust NHS Elect workforce digital transformation programme will be threaded throughout the session to provide a real life example.

What you'll learn

  • Strategise: Setting your programme up for strategic success from the start
  • Discover: Mapping your current and expected future state to pre-identify barriers and enablers, considering behaviour change and human factor theories
  • Implement: Designing and delivering your implementation programme
  • Evaluate: Demonstrating the impact of your programme

Who is this webinar for?

Any NHS individual or team who is responsible for implementing a digital or technological innovation, at a local, regional or national level.

Lead facilitators

Ella Nuttall

Ella studied a Health Psychology MSc at UCL, with a focus on behaviour change. On graduating she worked at an award-winning medical education agency, incorporating academic behaviour change theories. She then spent four years at KPMG in the Healthcare and Lifesciences Strategy team advising the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies internationally to develop and refine their corporate strategies - including launch, operational strategy and stakeholder engagement, across therapy areas.

At the start of the Covid pandemic, Ella joined the London Nightingale Hospital’s Training and Education team, and has spent the last 3 years working in the NHS to support national and regional workforce and education strategies across care areas, including recently supporting development of Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Strategy (2023-28).

Claire has spent much of her career within Critical Care working predominately in operational leadership, education, and development. She has expertise in quality improvement and implementation of change at trust and system level.

Claire has provided clinical leadership to a national project to update and deliver national digital critical care passports to support the COVID healthcare delivery plan, on behalf of Health Education England. As clinical lead, she also led digitisation and implementation of the national pilot of clinical digital proficiencies for adult critical care nursing. This work has required engagement and collaboration with national partners and stakeholders, and Trusts throughout the four nations and arm-length bodies. Claire has an interest in Human Factors and is passionate about supporting teams within the NHS to deliver safe and effective care.

Tania Shetty

Tania has an MSc in International Health Management and expertise in patient advocacy and medical education.

During her career she has worked closely with underrepresented and often marginalised communities, including LGBTQ+ and BAME communities, women, drug users, and migrants, to gain a greater understanding of their unmet needs and deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive health-related activities at a European-level.

As Lead Programme Manager for Elect Consults, she plays an integral role in embedding rigorous governance and tailored project management support that best meets the needs of a diverse range of key national and regional stakeholders, including commissioners, systems, and professional bodies, to address common NHS workforce planning and education challenges.
